Biblical in origin, the sukkah is the original green building. Its ancient, esoteric rules outline a veritable botanical menagerie of allowable construction materials. Our competition aims to re-imagine the structure within those ancient design constraints. Our hope is that the structure's scale, temporary nature, and strange design parameters will provoke wild and exciting experimentation in both design and fabrication techniques. Jurors include Ron Arad, Michael Arad, Thom Mayne, Adam Yarinsky, Paul Goldberger, and Ada Tolla.
